ROTEIRO 5 - By car with minimal walking Cachoeira do Diabo TOTAL DISTANCE: 140 km by car, 2 km on foot Take walking shoes, hat, swimming clothes, sun cream, flash light, warm pullover, water and food. This is an all day trip which incorporates many of the different attractions of the Chapada Diamantina in one day. An excellent choice for those without much time. Suitable for all abilities and ages, little walking involved. |

MUCUGEZINHO/POÇO DO DIABO – DEVIL’S POOL The River Mucugezinho forms a variety of pools good for bathing. About 1 km down river the impressive Devil’s Pool waterfall offers great swimming and sometimes absailing. Some of the caves beside the river have been turned into bars which means it can get very crowded at weekends and public holidays. |

GRUTA DA PRATINHA E GRUTA AZUL– PRATINHA CAVE AND BLUE CAVE Distance from Lençóis: 77km (7km on dirt road) Time: 1hr by car and 15min. on foot. Gruta Azul is a small cave in which the crystal clear pool appears blue by the light from the sun. Best seen between 13:00 and 15:00hrs. Gruta da Pratinha is a similar formation to Gruta Azul and the river flows into a large crystal clear lake which is good for swimming and snorkelling. It is possible to take a snorkelling trip into the Pratinha cave. This can be organised and paid for on location. |

MORRO DO PAI INÁCIO – PAI INÁCIO HILL Distance from Lençóis: 27km. Time: 30min by car and 20 min on foot. At 1200m above sea level, the top of the Pai Inácio hill offers one of the most spectacular and photographed views in the area. One of the most beautiful spots of the Chapada Diamantina. |
